Banting Mac and Cheese

This Banting Mac and Cheese Recipe Is the Ideal Healthy Comfort Food Dish

This healthy Banting mac and cheese recipe made with cauliflower is a delicious & healthy substitute for the original.

In fact this Banting Mac and cheese dish provides you with that delicious cheesy, comfort food type of satisfaction whilst allowing you to maintain your healthy, low-carb Banting diet that is so hugely supported & promoted by Tim Noakes.

The cheese & dairy content in this recipe is obviously Banting & Noakes approved – some dairy is also fine for Paleo eaters.

If you are lactose intolerant or worried about eating cheese, generally the higher the fat content in cheese & milk, the lower the lactose levels.

What drinks are you allowed on Banting?

    • PaleoGuy says:

      Hi Zanele

Drink lots of water, but not Tonic water as it’s loaded with carbs.

Tea, coffee (without sugar) & full cream milk is fine – don’t go for low-fat or fat-free as they could contain artificial sweeteners & other nasties.

It’s best to not consume alcohol but if you must, dry wines, most spirits & some low-carb beers should be safe but generally alcohol does not agree with staying slim & healthy

    Good day
Can kids follow this way of eating as well. I have 3kids aged 9,5 & 2.
What sort of lunchboxes can I make for them. I am really lost because I’m so used to giving them bread.
I want us all at home to start and follow this lifestyle.
I have printed the 7 day eating plan

Is coconut milk in the green list?

    • PaleoGuy says:

      Hi Lindy

Coconut milk has become very popular for people on Paleo (no dairy), as well as those on the Banting diet especially since Tim Noakes backtracked on dairy & removed cream & yogurt from the green list & then reinstated them. This was after people were complaining that they weren’t losing weight which may have been due to too much dairy consumption (Paleo doesn’t allow dairy).

Coconut milk became a popular alternative & whilst it can be very good for you there could be some drawbacks as mentioned by Chriss Kesser here
