Date Balls
This healthy date ball recipe produces delicious date balls that pack an awesome energy & protein punch.
Not only are these date balls easy to make with no baking required, they provide the perfect taste sensation which I’m sure you’ll love.
They’re also gluten-free as well as low-carb and provide the perfect treat for those on the Paleo or Banting diet.
Date Ball Recipe
Ingredients
- 500ml Dates – chopped
- 100ml Water
- 100g Unsalted butter
- 100g Ground almonds
- 100g Gluten free cookies crumbled (optional)
- 100ml raw cacao powder
- 100ml organic coconut sugar
Method
- Place dates and water in a saucepan and heat gently until dates are very soft
- Add butter and simmer to melt butter, mix well
- Remove from heat
- Add the ground almonds and crumbled GF cookies (if using)
- Mix well
- Place in a glass dish lined with baking / parchment paper (This to allow for cooling)
- Cool in fridge for approximately 30 minutes
- Mix the cacao powder and coconut sugar together in a bowl
- Once cool enough to work with remove from fridge
- Mold into small bite-size balls
- Roll the balls in cacao sugar mixture
- Place on baking paper
- Allow to cool in fridge
- Store in a sealed container in the fridge
