Date Balls

This healthy date ball recipe produces delicious date balls that pack an awesome energy & protein punch.

Not only are these date balls easy to make with no baking required, they provide the perfect taste sensation which I’m sure you’ll love.

They’re also gluten-free as well as low-carb and provide the perfect treat for those on the Paleo or Banting diet.

Date Ball Recipe

Ingredients

  • 500ml Dates – chopped
  • 100ml Water
  • 100g Unsalted butter
  • 100g Ground almonds
  • 100g Gluten free cookies crumbled (optional)
  • 100ml raw cacao powder
  • 100ml organic coconut sugar

Method

  • Place dates and water in a saucepan and heat gently until dates are very soft
  • Add butter and simmer to melt butter, mix well
  • Remove from heat
  • Add the ground almonds and crumbled GF cookies (if using)
  • Mix well
  • Place in a glass dish lined with baking / parchment paper (This to allow for cooling)
  • Cool in fridge for approximately 30 minutes
  • Mix the cacao powder and coconut sugar together in a bowl
  • Once cool enough to work with remove from fridge
  • Mold into small bite-size balls
  • Roll the balls in cacao sugar mixture
  • Place on baking paper
  • Allow to cool in fridge
  • Store in a sealed container in the fridge
